Welcome to Bookcliffs Council on the Arts and Humanities

Bookcliffs Council on Arts and Humanities is dedicated to creating a vibrant arts and humanities community in Western Garfield County. Our vision is large and includes the creation of a Community Art Center devoted to displaying, performing, teaching, and promoting a wide variety of art, as well as, housing a space where people can share creative ideas. The center will be an energetic and dynamic area that will include an art garden, a state of the art amphitheater, community garden plots, galleries, and classrooms. Our hope is that it will become a “must visit” destination for our community and visitors alike.

The Art Park Project

The BCAH Art Park resides on five acres at the junction of 16th Street and Birch Street in Rifle, Colorado. Currently the site features the former residence and art work of artist and long-time property owner William Morrow, as well as, 16 community garden plots. We have extensive plans for future improvements to the Art Park complex and Bookcliffs Council of the Arts and Humanities recently was able to complete the annexation process of the property into the city of Rifle. To read more about our plans for the Art Park, please visit our Sunrise Art Park page.

Community Garden

For the last two years, the Bookcliffs Art Council has hosted a community garden on its property on 16th Street in Rifle. The Garden has been a great success in the past and we are looking forward to another great year. If you would like to apply for a plot in the garden, please download and fill out our Community Garden Application.

Our Website

Our website was launched in July, 2009 to help us inform the public about our purpose, provide information about our projects, publicly acknowledge our members, and promote the local arts community. If you have ideas regarding how we may improve our website, or if you are a local artist that would like to promote your art on our site, contact us at info@artsinrifle.org.
